Psalm 37:4

Lord,
Please protect my heart. Help me to remember you have the very best for me. I can trust in you and you've never let me down.

Psalm 37:4: "Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart." This is my mantra. My heart so desires to be in the very center of your will, God. My hope cannot be in the things I see. I have to daily make it my purpose to put my trust in you.

Although I'm opening up again, I cannot look beyond the present moment. I want to enjoy it yet be cautious and allow you to lead me. Please remove all doubt from my mind and help me to have faith in your promises. If this is not your will for me, please remove this desire from my heart. If it is, help me to be patient in your timing. To you a day is like ten thousand; ten thousand like a day.

Help me to seek your face and not the blessings I long for. If you will it, they will come to pass. Help me to receive your love and not the praises of man. I'm taking small steps forward, relying upon you to direct me and keep my feet steady. No man is the source of my joy. You are. I choose to keep my eyes on you and not on the things I'm believing you for. Change my heart that I may have full rest and peace during my time of waiting.

This is so good - I especially like the last line. During my own time of waiting, I find myself more and more often thanking God for his grace to give me this time. Time that I didn't really want or think I needed, but He has given it to me as a gift so that I can grow and draw closer to Him. Be blessed!

This is encouraging to read. Your desire to seek God foremost inspires me.

I'm reminded when Jesus told his followers in Matthew 21:22 that if they believe they will receive whatever they ask in prayer. With a heart like yours desiring God I know He is honoring your requests.

One of the deepest lessons that God has taught me thus far has been exactly what you were expressing: "Help me seek your face and not the blessings I long for."

He put it to me this way: "Love me whether you see my Hand or not. Even if you don't feel me, love Me anyway." That is truly trusting in Him and not our own feelings or desires. Keep walking, girl.

Hey blogger friend! Just dropping by to say hi! You are so right "No man (or woman for that matter) is the source of my joy". My marriage was in shambles until I quit looking in all the wrong places and focused my eyes on Jesus. He raises the dead! It is amazing what He did with what I thought was a hopeless situation when I finally surrendered to Him.

God Bless my friend, you are in our prayers. Spring is just around the corner!

While reading in my Bible today I read 2 Chronicles 12:7 and thought about you. "Then the Lord appeared to Solomon by night, and said to him: 'I have heard your prayer, and have chosen this place for Myself as a house of sacrifice.'"

Months maybe years, had passed since Solomon's prayer of dedication (chapter 6). Several other building projects had been completed after the temple(7:11;8:1). Then after all this time, God told Solomon that he had heard Solomon's prayer. How often do we look for immediate answers to our prayer and, when nothing happens, wonder if God has heard us? God does hear, and he will provide for us. We must trust that God will answer at the proper time.
