Frustration!

My trip to California was fantastic. I got to see Brandy for the first time in 3 1/2 yrs. and the wedding was beautiful. I'll post a few pictures of my trip within the next couple of weeks but I had to share about my trip coming back home and all that happened this evening. I just couldn't figure out why everything seemed to be going wrong.

It seemed to start before I even got to the airport. The hair & makeup stylists that fixed Brandy & I up for her wedding had accidentally packed my straightener and had left with it the day of the wedding, but I didn't realize it was gone 'till 12:00 a.m. this morning, after I had gotten back to the hotel and wanted nothing more than a shower. This meant that I had to go to bed with my hair dirty. So, I woke up with only 3 1/2 hours of sleep with a head full of hair that reeked of smoke, dried sweat, and our burrito dinner at the reception. I was so exhausted from staying up until 12:30 this morning and then getting up at 4:00 a.m. to drive to LAX to catch my plane. So, I didn't hear them announce that they'd begun boarding. Only when I heard my name over the intercom did I realize I was only seconds away from missing my flight. First time ever, and I've been flying for years. The flight was relaxing, but when we got to Indy and went to baggage claim, a storm had moved in and we were instructed that the ramp was closed due to safety reasons. My friend & I waited for an hour and 45 minutes for one piece of luggage. I hadn't eaten since 7:00 a.m., and by this time, it was going on 8:00 p.m. I was really irritated at that point.

We picked up fast food and I got dropped off. I reached in my purse to get the keys and...nothing....my house key, I soon remembered, was in my roommate's posession. She was walking with her parents and didn't have her phone on her. Sooo, I shoved everything in my mouth without a thing to drink (I had water IN THE HOUSE) and $104.00 and 30 minutes later, my door is finally jimmied open by a locksmith. I get into the house just as I hear a 'crunch'. The locksmith backed up and completely ran over two of my neighbors' mailboxes. When the commotion calmed down a little, I went to clean up after my pup and discovered that the newspaper print, which was laid down on the floor outside his carrier, has rubbed off onto the linoleum in my bathroom. I scrubbed for awhile to no avail. It's lookin' like it'll be a permanent addition to the bathroom floor.

I'm super frustrated that nothing seems to be going right...so my roommate calls to pray with me. I feel somewhat better but am still ready for the day to be over. All I want is a shower and my own bed!

I finally made it to the shower after I finished unpacking....and stepped on the world's largest spider in my bathtub. Barefoot.

Yep. Glad there's only 24 hrs. in a day. I need a 'do-over'.
